Warheads Candy
Warheads, known for their intensely sour flavor, have been delighting taste buds and challenging palates for decades. The candy was invented in Taiwan in 1975 and was first imported to the United States in 1993 by The Foreign Candy Company of Hull, Iowa.
The candy came in a variety of flavors with an original lineup of apple, blue raspberry, black cherry, lemon, and watermelon. For those that could endure the initial shock of sour abuse, a sweet & juicy relief followed as the candy dissolved.
Warheads became a cultural phenomenon for school-aged kids with the candy gaining a status not dissimilar to a sort of school currency including trading & collecting. The intense sour flavor oftentimes led to challenges and double-dog dares to see how many of the candies could be consumed at once.
